Formulas and band definitions
NDVI = (NIR − Red) / (NIR + Red)
NDWI (McFeeters) = (Green − NIR) / (Green + NIR)
NDBI = (SWIR − NIR) / (SWIR + NIR)
For Sentinel-2, common choices are B8/B4 for NDVI, B3/B8 for McFeeters NDWI, and B11/B8 for NDBI. Confirm product, resolution, atmospheric correction, scaling, and band compatibility. Do not mix raw digital numbers and reflectance values. A zero denominator is rejected. Results are index values, not land-cover classifications.
